4th amendment - eminent domain, freedom not to be forced to incriminate self
6th amendment - right to counsel
9th amendment - what's listed in constitution doesn't take away from any rights not listed, i.e. not a complete list of rights
10th amendment - all powers not granted to the central government are reserved to the states and people
2nd amendment - right to keep a state militia and people to keep and bear arms, though not required to do so (effectively only restricts fed government)
 amendment - right to trial by jury for civil suits, and jury is the last word on facts, rulings on facts can't be appealed
common law - system of law brought from england
juries only in the lowest level of court and are last deciders of facts in a case
23rd amendment - DC allowed electors in pres election (electoral college)
24th amendment - can't be denied right to vote based on poll taxen
22nd amendment - two terms for presidency amounting to no more than 10 years
16th amendment - allows congress to tax income
17th amendment - direct election of senators
article 5 - amendments to constitution propose: 2/3 of both houses of congress propose or 2/3 of states asking for a constitutional convention
					ratify: 3/4 of states by legislatures or ratify conventions
26th amendment - 
11th amendment - states cannot be sued in federal court
12th amendment - revises electoral college (separates ballots for pres and vp)
US is not currently a direct democracy, it is a constitutional republic, makes it easier to have a very large population
20th amendment - changes start dates for presidential/vp and congressional terms (know dates) and procedures for what happens if we don't have a pres on inauguration day
article 1 - elastic clause (big place to expand power)
a1s9 - can't prohibit slavery before 1808, habeus corpus can not be suspended except during riots/rebellion/revolt (must justify legal arrest to judge), no bill of attainder or ex post facto law can be passed, no tax for living, no import tax between states, must treat states the same, no money drawn from treasury unless by law, budget must be published, no title of nobility, no person holding office will accept benefits from foreign governments
states can't gang up, grand licenses for piracy, coin $$, must use $$ for debts, can't pass BOA or EPF laws, can't mess with contracts, can't grant title of nobility, can't tax imports of exports w/o consent of congress, can't tax ships by weight, can't keep standing armies or navies during peace, no war unless invaded
bill of attainder - legislative act that declares someone guilty of a crime and gets x punishment
ex post facto law - can't make something illegal after the fact and punish people for doing it beforehand
article 2 - 4 year term for pres/vp, officials can't serve as pres elector, congress chooses date of electoral vote, pres requirements (nat born citizen, 35, resident of US for 14 years), pres shall receive compensation that is constant during term, gets no other benefits, oath of office, s2 has pwrs of pres, s3 has responsibilities, make treaties/appointments w/ confirmation of senate, pres/vp can be removed from office
article 6 - supremacy clause, national government wins in conflict of laws, all war debts still valid, no religious test ever required to hold office
